Downloading

You will need to obtain AOL Instant Messenger 5.x for Windows. It is available at this link: Download Info

If you obtained AIM from another source, the following instructions should still apply. Please be careful of outside downloads, as they can be infected with viruses and/or malware.

Installing

Once AIM is installed, you will need to do the following steps:

1. Click the Setup button (has an icon with a yellow wrench)
2. Click the Connection button
3. Change Host to aim.chivanet.org and verify that Port is 5190
4. Do NOT select the Connect using proxy checkbox!
5. Click OK
6. Click OK
7. Enter your Screen Name and Password and click Sign On
