Installing

iChat is packaged with Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar through 10.7 Lion, so there is no installation step.

Mac OS X versions 10.0, 10.1, and 10.8 and newer are unsupported.

ChivaNet has tested these instructions on Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar on a PowerPC G4.

Configuration

1. Open iChat from the dock or the Applications folder
2. Click iChat and then Preferences... to show the Accounts page:
3. Enter your screen name and password in the appropriate fields, making sure that Enable AIM is selected
4. Click Server Settings...:
5. Enter aim.chivanet.org in the Server: field
6. Enter 5190 in the Port field
7. Do not enable Connect using proxy
8. Click OK
9. Close the Accounts window
10. Choose iChat and then Log into AIM
