This is a list of common error codes in Microsoft Windows dialup networking. It may be useful in troubleshooting problems when connecting to ChivaNet dialup service.
Each section heading pertains to one or more common error codes, in numeric format.

This error indicates that the connection dropped. You may wish to force your modem to connect at a lower speed (see http://www.modemhelp.org/inits/ for examples).
If you are using VoIP (Voice over IP) to connect to ChivaNet, make sure that the only codec allowed is G.711 u-law (sometimes referred to as just "u-law" or "ulaw"). This uses more bandwidth, but more closely emulates the characteristics of a traditional POTS line.

This error means there are no PPP control protocols configured. Make sure your dialup connection has PAP/CHAP enabled, and is not forcing MSCHAP.
